The Sohum ‘Portable Automated ABR’ device is a non-invasive, safe, and simple technology that can be employed in existing UNHS programs under RBSK. In case of a shortage of skilled and expert workforce, it can be easily taught to other staff. The high sensitivity and specificity of this device, not only reduces the number of falsely referred cases but also detects a greater number of newborns with hearing loss. Eventually, better clinical effectiveness may be achieved.
